The Lady Cards softball team opened the season Feb. 1, playing Hill College in a double-header.

They have six more games left to play this month. TVCC will be at home against Grayson College (Feb. 15) before going on the road for a four-game stretch.

They will travel to Grambling (Feb. 17); Hill College (Feb. 22); play in a round robin tournament in Bossier City, La.; and travel to Blinn College (Feb. 28) before closing out the month against Mclennan on their home field.

Women’s Basketball

The Lady Cards are still ranked No. 1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association national poll. With a 23-0 overall record, they Lady Cards are looking to repeat as conference champions.

Guard Sha’Kayla Caples (5’11” Vicksburd, Miss.) is ranked No. 7 in the nation in scoring, leading the LadyCards with 19 points a game. Starr Breedlove (5’6′ Teaneck, N.J.) is ranked sixth in steals, averaging 6.9 per game.

The Lady Cards have six more games left before the regional 14 tournament. Their last game of the season is March 3 against Panola.

Men’s Basketball

The Cards are currently 15-8, 8-4 in the second half of the season.

The team is led by D.D. Scarver (6’4″ 180, Birmingham, Ala.) who is averaging 21 points a game. The top rebounder

on the team is freshman Dominique Elliot (6’7″ 220, Savannah, Ga.).

TVCC will be on the road for their games against Navarro (Feb. 11), Angelina (Feb. 18) and Kilgore (Feb. 22),

before playing host to Tyler (Feb. 25). They will play in Paris (Feb. 29) before hosting Panola (March 3).
