TVCC’s art department hosts their annual art show December 1 to the 6. It is located in the Learning Resource Center on the first and second floor.
This annual art show displays the art of current art students and the pieces they work on throughout the year.
Drawing 1, Painting 1, and Art Foundations are the three courses that are displayed within this art show. Talking to the art professor, she describes the outline of this art show and the work that students put into it.
“I have students that have been doing art all their lives and it’s pretty apparent when they come to class and they’re just right on task. And then I have others who have always wanted to draw but haven’t. They have some basic exercises they go through; they’re in the show and they fit in with all the others. So it’s really satisfying.”
Hannah Hagle, an art student, walks me to one of her pieces. A watercolor and oil pastel bird.
“It was a blob for a while. A black blob. I was frustrated and it turned into a cloudy background. I was not happy at first,” Hannah says with a smirk.
When asked about her major, her response is noteworthy.
“I’m kinda just art in general. I’m here for skill.”
This art show displays the creativity, work, style, and creations of these artist. Swing by and admire the hard work and aesthetics.
